THE STORY OF A BOLLYWOOD BROTHEL

In Mumbai this past summer, I visited the former grounds of one of India’s most upscale brothels. Its exclusive prostitutes were visited by tourists, the mafia, politicians, diplomats... The brothel was recognized in Mumbai, throughout India, and around the world.

However, God had other plans. He brought a simple but anointed Canadian woman to Mumbai. One day, the Canadian woman, Rani, got a call to pray for a woman in the hospital. The woman was brain-dead when Rani arrived. However, Rani herself had looked death in the face, and she knew the power of healing prayer.

After all, doctors had once given Rani two years to live; her brain tumour equated numerous hospital visits, terrible seizures, and she never knew if she would wake up the next morning. But when Rani gave her life to the Lord, He healed her. And because Rani had been healed, she could now pray boldly for the healing of others.

Unshaken and unafraid, Rani stood at the hospital bed of the brain-dead woman, and she prayed for God’s healing. The brain-dead woman was not only healed: she asked Christ to come into her life. and she thanked Him for saving her life, both physically and eternally!

This formerly dead woman turned out to be the “Madame” of this Mumbai brothel. She then took Rani to the brothel, and opened up door after door, revealing girls, girls, girls ... Prostitutes, Sex-slaves, smuggled there and living in a caged den.

The “Madame”, now a daughter of the living God, turned the entire brothel over to Rani. The prostitutes were now set free; before they left, Rani led a number of them to the same Healer who had once healed her and who had just healed their Madame.

In the late fall of 1999, Rani and the women started to clean up the place. In 2000, the brothel grounds started being used for tent meetings, and in 2002, Rani and the women started to build a concrete church.

And NOW the brothel is a church!

Today, some of the former prostitutes are married and with children, earning money through vocational work, healed from physical diseases such as AIDS, and involved in ministries to orphans, widows, and destitute children.

In fact, a number of those ex-prostitutes are now ministering in the church that stands on their former brothel’s grounds.

And whereas Bollywood celebrities came to the brothel for their own selfish gains, they are now attracted to services on Sunday mornings, where they eagerly hear the Word of God.

Wow... Isn’t it amazing? This is the mighty God we serve! If you need God’s healing touch today, let this story be an encouragement to you.

The Bollywood Prayer Network exists to pray for professionals in the Indian entertainment industry. Bollywood is the capital of India’s movie industry. It produces more films than any other movie industry in the world. Bollywood stars are popular in Russia, the United Kingdom, the Middle East, Pakistan, Egypt, Bangladesh, the South Pacific Islands, Latin America and communist nations.

The BPN exists to provide spiritual support to stars in Bollywood, fashion and advertisement industries. Those who wish to join the Network as prayer partners may visit their website. The BPN has a hotline to request for prayer requests and for counseling. Within Mumbai, the number for the Prayer and Care Centre is 9920301072.
