BILLY GRAHAM CELEBRATES 91ST BIRTHDAY
Evangelist Billy Graham spent the first November weekend
receiving several family members at his western North
Carolina home to celebrate his 91st birthday today.
“I’ve experienced God’s gracious love in a personal way
all these years,” Graham said. “Today my heart is filled
with gratitude to the Lord for all He has done for me,
and for all the prayers from so many people over the
years.”

REFORMED CHURCH IN AMERICA SINKING SHIP IMPLODING,
SAYS PROFESSOR
The
Reformed Church in America is a sinking ship, says one
Reformed believer. “Listen. Do you hear them? Those are
the gentle, mournful sounds of a denomination
imploding,” wrote Donald A Luidens, professor of
sociology at Hope College, Michigan, in November’s
Perspectives. “The denominational craft has carried us
far, but it’s time is up. It has sprung debilitating
leaks which can no longer be plugged.”

Nov: A ministry that supports persecuted
Christians launched a campaign to press Iran to release
two young female converts who have been detained for
eight months in one of the most notorious prisons in the
country. Open Doors USA is calling on people to send a
“respectful” message to Iranian Ambassador to the United
Nations Mohammad Khazaee to request that Maryam
Rostampour, 27, and Marzieh Amirizadeh Esmaeilabad, 30,
be released immediately.

UK CATHOLICS 'DISAPPOINTED' WITH SEX EDUCATION PLANS
The Catholic Education Service for England and Wales
says it is “disappointed” with the announcement from
Schools Secretary Ed Balls that sex education is to be
made compulsory for all pupils. Mr Balls announced on
Thursday that it is now compulsory for all 15-year-olds
to take part in at least one year of sex and
relationships lessons.

BISHOP CALLS BRITAIN TO RETURN TO CHRISTIAN ETHIC
Britain’s freedoms are being eroded as Afghanistan’s are
being built up, says the Bishop of Lichfield. In a
sermon for Remembrance Sunday in Stoke Minster, the Rt
Rev Jonathan Gledhill said British troops were being
sent to Afghanistan to build a free and democratic
society while Britain’s own freedoms and values were in
danger of being dismantled.

ASSEMBLIES OF GOD GETS GOVERNMENT PERMIT IN VIETNAM
In October 2009, the Assemblies of God of Vietnam
received a permit from the Vietnam government to
operate, which is the first step in becoming an
officially recognized church. Although the AG was
established in Vietnam in 1989, Vietnam’s Religion Law
requires an organization to be a stable organization for
20 years before the process of official recognition can
begin. Now that this step has been passed, the church
has an official operating license.

EVANGELICAL MARCH IN BRAZIL DRAWS 15 LAKH PEOPLE
Sao Paulo: More than 15 Lakh evangelical
Christians joined Brazil’s annual “March for Jesus” on
November 2, an event sponsored by a church whose leaders
recently returned after being imprisoned in the U.S. for
money smuggling. Now in its 17th year, the march unites
faithful from hundreds of evangelical churches and
attracts dozens of Christian bands, preachers and local
celebrities. It is organized by the powerful Reborn in
Christ Church, whose leaders said they expected 50 Lakh
people to gather around a central Sao Paulo plaza where
the main stage was located.
