WHY LORD WHY? - Susan Prakash
“Why, Lord, why this had happened in my life?” Yes, this question is very familiar to you. All of us have faced hard situations in our life, haven't we? What will happen if each of these lasts for more than one month? But have you ever imagined a worse situation--that of having to suffer all our days?

I am sure that you have asked God why these temptations occur in your own life? And did you get any answer from God? If not, let me give you an answer.

God loves us. That is why, he allows us to be in such hard situations. The Bible says in James 1:12 “Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for he who has been approved; he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love him.” But God also says, “Let no one say when he is tempted, “ I am tempted by God.” “For God cannot be tempted by evil; nor does he himself tempt anyone.-(James 1:3). But God had never said that we will not have any temptations in our life. As the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 10:3 “NO temptations had overtaken you expect Such as in common to man but god is faithful who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able. But with temptations he will also male a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

So the bible teaches us that we will have many temptations in our own life. And so the way of escaping from temptations in our life depends on how much we have stronger faith in God. After these temptations we are made into a new vessel. God says in Acts 19:15 that we are going through these temptations in order meet God's various purposes.

Once upon a time, a man happened to see a caterpillar coming out of a cocoon. It strugged to come out of the cocoon, through that small hole. On seeing this that man became very sad and so he took a needle and made the hole of the cocoon larger. And so the caterpillar came out of the cocoon in the usual process very easily. After that, a few weeks later, the man happened to see that caterpillar crawling and it was not able to fly. The man tried a lot to help it fly. Still it was not able to fly. The caterpillar should have come out of the cocoon through a small hole after a long struggle. This is to condition its body for flight. When the man made the small hole into a larger one, the natural process was disrupted and the caterpillar's wings didn't adapt for flight.

It is God's creation plan for every creature to go through painful circumstances. Man, the creation of God, in his own image had also some wonderful features like the butterfly. That is why he allows us to be in distress. Afterwards, we will become like the nice, beautiful butterfly for God's marvellous purposes. As the Bible says in Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love god, to those who are called according to his purpose.” Do not fear when you are walking through the valley of shadow of death. God be with you and guide you!
