 REV P. S. PHILIP ELECTED SUPERINTENDENT OF AG MALAYALAM DISTRICT
 

Punalur: The Assemblies of God Malayalam District has elected a new committee. This committee with five members will oversee churches and pastors in its jurisdiction for a term of two years.

Rev. P. S. Philip is the new Superintendent; Rev. K. J. Mathew, the new Assistant Superintendent and Rev. Babu George (Ranny) continues as the Secretary. Two fresh faces in this committee are N. Christudanam (Treasurer) and Thomas Philip (member).

An office bearer may continue in the same office, if re-elected, for a maximum of three terms, that is, six years. Rev. T J Samuel, the former Superintendent, held office for six years. Therefore he stood down to take a term's break.

The new committee will meet on the 22nd of March, 2010. No major policy shifts are expected, said Rev. K. J Mathew, the new Secretary, in an online interview.

Rev. P. S. Philip has served as the Principal of Bethel Bible College, Punalur, the oldest Assemblies of God Bible college outside North America. He also has served as the Assistant General Superintendent of the South India Assemblies of God. He is married to Leelamma and they are blessed with a son and three daughters.
