The Laxmi Bai Women's Self-Help Group (SHG) of Naik
nagar, Murum, Maharashtra has bagged the first place at
the State Level and second place at the National Level
during the SHG Exhibition held in Mumbai.
Laxmibai Mahila Bachat Gat Naik Nagar (Murum) was
started by World Vision and is also supported by World
Vision. This group has been putting up its stalls in
Mumbai, Delhi and in the neighbouring towns and has been
recognized for its work.
The Laxmibai Mahila Bachat Gat of Naik Nagar has bagged
the “Mahalaxmi Saras Pradarshan Award” during the
exhibition. This exhibition was jointly organized by
National and State Government Rural Development Ministry
(Gram Vikas Mantralaya) and NABARD from 21st January to
2nd February.
Nearly 450 SHGs from 22 States took part in the event
and displayed products for exhibition and sale. Six SHGs
from Osmanabad District took part in the exhibition.
Laxmibai Mahila Bachat Gat - Naik Nagar too displayed
their traditional Banjara Dress during the exhibition.
The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr. Ashokraoji
Chavan felicitated Laxmibai Mahila Bachat Gat Naik Nagar
at Omerga on the occasion of International Women's Day.
The President of India Smt. Prathiba Patil has invited
the Laxmi Mahila Bachat Gat to New Delhi to felicitate
them.
