Andhra Pradesh,
India : A church under construction was
demolished by a group of Hindu radicals at Anantpur in
Andhra Pradesh state on May 23,2010.
According to Global Council of Indian Christians (GCIC),
The church was demolished by members of Hindu radical
group Rashtriya Swayam Sevaks (RSS) and the incident
took place at around 9 am.
News source reported that, the believers had secured all
the necessary permissions from the concerned authorities
for the construction of the church. But these Hindu
radicals were not happy with the construction of the
Church in this place and hence they attacked and
demolished the church building and thereafter installed
idol of a Hindu god hanuman inside the demolished
church.
Pastor Vijay, the minister of the Church along with few
believers approached the nearest police station for
help, but the sad part was that the police refused to
file a complaint against these Hindu radicals.
