It is
apparent that the Holy Spirit is transforming and
raising up grass roots level leaders in our nation. Our
researches presumed the ethnic diversity and language
barriers as hindrance to spread the Gospel and salvation
of people. Evidently that proved to be imprudence and
the hunger for the truth is increasing throughout India
and people are done with meaningless things. It is not
because of new and more effective methods; rather it is
the same old method of God pouring out His Spirit and
convicting people and using people like Peter, James,
John, Paul and Barnabas.
The common man does not want to protect his religion
instead he longs for some kind of protection from his
religion. Those who vouched for intolerance and
religion-based-power-politics realised the irrationality
in it and no more want to continue with such notions . A
search for the truth, true freedom, joy and peace that
are experienced only through Jesus Christ, has drawn
many into the Kingdom of God.
Moreover, no devil is strong enough to stop the
advancement of the Kingdom in this world. It is folly to
believe that the plans and power of the devil can
subjugate a nation forever while its people are
interceding for its salvation the Almighty. An
illustration told recently by someone gives light into
it. The devil approached a person sleeping on a bridge
and awoke him after a pretty good shake. He asked: "You
are a born again Christian, right? The man said yes. The
furious devil said: Go to your home and sleep there.
Otherwise I may be blamed and rebuked for your death if
you fall into the river from the bridge!" The New
Testament believer has an adversary who was defeated by
His Master and Lord Jesus Christ.
We must realise that when we pray for revival we are
entering into an agreement with God to be available to
go wherever He sends and to do whatever He asks. Many
'prayers for our nation spring from selfish motives.
Some proclaim it inadvertently that they want to see
revival sprout through their prayer movement. Somehow
their definition of prayer is misplaced. Field workers
who sacrifice and suffer are undermined by these so
called 'prayer movers' since the former are not in their
company to catch their vision.
Wouldn't God connect and unite the hearts of those who
long for the Kingdom to come irrespective of their
location and denomination? God does not show favouritism.
He loves every single one and searches their heart. He
uses man to accomplish His purpose on the face the
earth.
Another area we really failed is in developing grass
roots level ministers of the Gospel. Our nepotism and
our lack of recognition for local leaders kept them away
from the mainstream of Christian ministry. It is high
time to accept God's will as He is picks up leaders and
raises them up. A good leader's vast experience and
compassion can mould and develop many grass roots level
leaders. God is at work. Work with Him in submission is
great worship. He is asking each one of us to develop
grass root ministers.
