The
Delhi Minority Commission today felicitated DR. B.K.
Pramanik, General Secretary of the Bible Society of
India for his yeoman to the Christian Community for the
last 25 years.
Welcoming the Hon'ble Members and the gathering, Mr.
Richard Khan, Auxiliary Secretary of North West India
Auxiliary mentioned the great task of the Bible Society
of India is doing for the last 200 years in translating,
publishing and distribution of the Holy Scripture.
Both Mr. Pushpinder Singh and Mr. Arnold James, Hon'ble
members of the Delhi Minority Commission said that the
work of the Bible Society is growing in India under the
leadership of Dr. B.K. Pramanik [ who look over the
leadership at a time, when the BSI was passing through
difficult and very challenging times. But the Grace of
God and his administrative experience and acumen, Dr.
Pramanik was able to steer the BSI to support of all the
churches and Christian organizations here and abroad ].
Under Dr. Pramanik's leadership there has been an all
around development in BSI and efforts are to become a
self supporting organization as soon as possible.
DMC has given assurance, that an organization like the
BSI, which is one of the largest publishing houses in
the country after the Government of India; will be given
its due attention and assistance, especially in
commemorating the Bicentenary of the BSI [February 2010
to February 2011]. And, particularly with regards to the
proposal of Releasing of a postage Stamp by
Government Of India to mark the occasion.
Dr. B.K. Pramanik as token gesture of appreciation,
presented a copy of the Bible in Today English Version
to the Chairman, Secretary and Hon'ble members of the
DMC.
The felicitation was also attended Members of the
Auxiliary Committee, staff and few well wishers.
