 NESC APPEALS FOR KRISHNA DAS' RELEASE
 

Kakching, June 12, 2009: North East support centre & helpline joins public Meeting today at Kakching demanded for immediate release of noted social Worker Y. Krishna Das from his resident at Imphal, kidnapped by unknown Persons with ransom of one core rupees. He was kidnapped on june 10 at around 10pm at gun point. It is a reported that he enjured gun shot on his leg while.

In a public meeting held at Kakching in demand of immediate release resolved to condemn the incident and demanded to release y. Krishna das unharmed. The public meeting also demanded the kidnappers to make known their identities and reasons for kidnapping. the public of kakching shut the market and all the public and private transport stayed off the road. The normal life of public is affected by the public meeting. new delhi based human rights activist madhu chandra spokes person of north east support centre & helpline, says, militants in manipur demanding independent of manipur violates human rights by committing such unacceptable incident by kidnapping the noted social worker. the people of manipur are facing extreme difficulty in daily life from excess arm forces from both security forces and militants. unlaw activities of kidnapping, killing, extortion, strikes and dharna has destroyed the social fabrics of people and the state. Every citizen must be give peace a chance to restore, peace and normal life. p
ublic meeting resolved to sit in protest until the release of y krishna das. A joint action committee was formed over 20 memebers. The public meeting was attended by former state minister shr. Ksh. Irabot, wabagai a/c mla dr. U.s. Deben, kakching a/c former mla shri. Th. Tomba and many more public figures.
