 KAKCHING CHRISTIANS CONDEMN KILLING OF Y.
 KRISHNADAS
 

Kakching, June 13, 2009: The Christian communities of Kakching condemn the barbaric killing of Social Worker Shri. Y. Krishnadas. The Christian community of Kakching supports all Manipur Bandh called by Joint Action Committee on the Killing of Shri. Y. Krishnadas

He was kidnapped by four unknown persons at gun point from his wife’s resident in Thangmeiband, Imphal on June 10 at around 9.30 PM and demanded one core rupees ransom for his release. A ransom of Rs. 25 lakhs was handed over to the kidnappers on the following day. On the third day, his family was informed of his death. His body was kept in Regional Institute of Medical Science morgue.

Shri. Y. Krishnadas’s works rendered to the communities of Kakching will be remembered forever. He was one among thousands who had dream to serve and uplift his communities.

Rev. N. Debendra – Chairman of Church Board said, “The shocking incident of Shri. Y. Krishnadas’s killing has broken the hearts and joy that was brought to the community just week ago by Ms. Nydia who is topper in High School Leaving Certificate examination 2009 of the state.”

“The shock, hurt and trauma suffered by Shri. Y. Krishnadas’s young wife and two years old daughter will never be forgotten. The God almighty will hear the sorrow, pain and cry of the bereaved family and the justice will be given.” says Rev. N Debendra.

The Christian Communities of Kakching condole the bereaved family of departed soul Shri. Y. Krishnadas and remember in prayer that the cry of his families and the communities will be heard by God.

Manipur is hit with multiple crisis of killing, looting, kidnapping, extortion, general strikes. The suffering of the general public has reached sky high without any ray of hope to become any better of the state condition
