P. Eapen explains why homosexuality is still a
deplorable perversion although he supports the scrapping
of Article 377 in our law books
Till recent times, I firmly believed
that the Indian government should never repeal Article
377, the statute that describes homosexual acts as
punishable crimes. The law says: "Whoever vol untarily
has carnal intercourse against the order of nature with
any man, woman or animal, shall be punished with
imprisonment for life, or with imprisonment of either
description for a term which may extend to ten years,
and shall also be liable to fine.”
A few months ago, I met a guy who was lured into
homosexual acts by a man whom he had befriended in an
online chat room. This incident took place four years
ago. The online predator was not alone. His vast network
of corrupt men began to emerge and prey upon their new
found game. All this while, this feeble victim wanted to
get out of the mess he had pulled himself into. He could
do nothing except sit alone and cry, desperate for a
deliverance.
He changed jobs frequently and fled from city to city.
But his tormentors kept overtaking him. His "friends"
have pictures and videos that portray him in homosexual
acts. They use these to blackmail him. They threaten him
with dire consequences if he does not cooperate with
them. If pictures/videos are handed over to the police,
he will be in trouble. There is no way of escape for him
now unless God intervenes. And he tells me that there
are several young men who wish to escape the clutches of
the gay mafia in Kerala. They are all victims of
blackmail - thanks to article 377.
To make use of this statute to their full advantage, gay
predators photograph their victims. Photographs and
video are shot in a such a way that the victim is
clearly identifiable. However, the predators themselves
cannot be recognized. They show these videos and
pictures to their victims, using these as a tool for
blackmail. As long as Article 377 remains in the statute
books of India, hundreds of such victims will remain at
the beck and call of their gay masters. They will not be
able to stand up and say, "Do whatever you want with my
photos, I will not cooperate with you!”
Worst of all, my friend contracted Hepatitis B as a
result of his homosexual activities. God saved him from
the brink of death. As he now travels the slow road to
recovery, he fights bouts of depression and suicidal
thoughts. I now feel that Indian government is right.
Article 377 should be struck down at the earliest. It
will not only pave the way for reluctant gays to escape
their tormentors but also help them to seek medical help
without fear of prosecution.
At the same time, I maintain my stand against
homosexuality, which is after all, no sexuality.
The world over, homosexuals are demanding that they be
treated with respect. That is not all. An open letter
written by author Vikram Seth and company to the
Government of India, seeking the abolition of Section
377, includes homosexual behaviour in the list of "human
rights and fundamental freedoms.”
In the name of human rights, some western societies
prohibit any criticism of homosexual lifestyle. Even as
homosexuals demand public tolerance towards their
lifestyle, it remains a fact they are not always
tolerant towards the views of those who are opposed to
their lifestyle. Any one who talks against homosexual
behaviour is seen as an uncivilised person of a bygone
era.
It is the law makers of this country who should decide
whether Section 377 be retained or struck down. However,
it is the aim of this writer to assert the right of
heterosexual people to hate homosexual practices and to
influence the public against homosexual behaviour. While
we love people who lead homosexual lifestyles, we
reserve our fun damental right to hate homosexual
behaviour.
Although I have used sharp and unpleasantly explicit
language here, my intention is not to mock homosexuals;
some of them may be tormented by the loss of their
heterosexual affinities. I wish to jolt the ardent
defenders of homosexual behaviour out of their faulty
reasoning that attempts to justify their acts.
Here is why no one should experiment with homosexual
acts and why homosexuals should seek change in their
"orientation" instead of taking "pride" in their
perversion.
1. Homosexual behaviour is contrary to natural law
Homosexual behaviour is obviously contrary to the design
of the created order. It is not a harmless activity done
by "consenting" adults; it is a dangerous activity, such
as driving on the wrong side of the road, that threatens
the very fabric and foundation of human society.
As I take pains to state the obvious, "gays" will surely
call me a narrow-minded barbarian. But if in their
broadminded enlightenment they think that it doesn't
matter which hole they get themselves into in their
pursuit of pleasure, why don't they extend this
philosophy to other mundane matters of earthly life? Why
won't they eat through their noses for a change? Why
won't they disregard the polarity of battery cells? Why
won't they mix and match electric wires in their homes?
They surely want to prevent a disaster.
Then, pray, whatever makes a "gay" man think that any
hole with a constrictible opening will serve as a
reasonable prop to help him attain sexual nirvana? Or
whatever makes a "gay" woman think that any pole with
the right diameter is a good match for her very self?
2. Homosexual behaviour is filthy and hazardous Well, it
cannot be any hole--gay men will correct me. It has to
be the southern end of another man's digestive tract! It
has to be filled with human refuse and decorated with a
deadly cocktail of over 200 species of bacteria. These
include organisms such Escherichia sp., Citrobacter sp.,
Salmonella typhi, Salmonella cholera, Shigella sp.,
Campylobacter sp., Enterobacter sp., Clostridium tetani,
Klebsiella pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, et cetera.
A "homosexual act" is therefore a date with these deadly
pathogens that cause GI tract disorders, typhoid,
tetanus, cholera, gonorrhea, HIV, etc. With condom or
otherwise, such acts are filthy to the core.
If that is not shocking enough, think of these "gays"
who practice "oral sex" (for that matter, neither the
mouth nor the anus is a sexual organ!) Filth becomes
their food; the detestable becomes their delicacy!
The anus is not designed for sexual activity. Not only
does penetration result in minute injuries, paving ways
for transmission of pathogens such as HIV, repeated
penetration can destroy the sphincter muscles.
Thus, homosexual men can lose their ability to contain
their wastes. Fecal leakage and its attendant
inconveniences and hazards will torment them.
Considering the amount of money and effort spent on
promoting hygiene and in combating sickness, how can
sensible people opt for such filthy behaviour?
Seeing the depths of depravity in these lifestyles, it
is not difficult to understand how homosexuality is just
a step away from bestiality (sexual relations with
animals). Bestiality is probably the origin of HIV and
AIDS in humans.
3. There is no sexual union in homosexual behaviour!
Several "developed" countries have approved homosexual
marriage and have given legal status to homosexual
couples. Indian courts have maintained that a marriage
without sexual intercourse is anathema. Divorce was
rightly awarded to people whose partners were unwilling
or unable to consummate their marriage in sexual union.
A sexual union requires the union of two individuals at
the sexual level. In other words, the two must be united
through the union of sexual organs. Where there is no
union of sexual organs, there is no sexual intercourse.
What matters here in the definition of a "sexual" act is
not the derivation of sexual pleasure but the union at
the sexual level. It is this union that makes a man and
his wife "one body.”
The so-called homo "sexuals" have got their biology
wrong. When a man engages in a so-called "homosexual"
act with another man, there is no union of their sexual
organs. They may succeed in giving sexual pleasure to
each other. However, the union that they have is not at
the sexual level. The union that they have is between
the sexual organ of one and the alimentary canal
(digestive tract) of the other! Either ends of the
alimentary canal - the mouth or the rectum - do not
qualify as sexual organs.
* If so, how can the "act" between two men be called a
"sexual act?”
* How can the "orientation" of these people be called an
alternate "sexual" orientation?
The same argument applies to lesbian behavior too.
* How in the world can two women have "sexual
intercourse?”
The gay claim of having an "outercourse" is silly, to
say the least.
Homosexuality is no sexuality. Sexual intercourse can
happen only between a man and a woman whose sexual
organs are carefully designed by God for such a
union--for mutual love, pleasure and procreation. If
homosexual couples cannot have sexual intercourse, then
there cannot exist a legally viable homosexual marriage.
Heterosexual monogamy is the only natural, divinely
approved expression for human sexuality.
4. "Homo" in homosexual behaviour is a farce!
To take this argument further, let us examine the "homo"
aspect of "homosexuality." The "gay" community wants
everyone to believe that their affinities are between
two people of the same gender. Take the case of two men
who claim to be "homosexuals.”
In their private time together, do both these men behave
like real men?
The answer is an astounding NO!
* One of them behaves like a man and the other behaves
like a woman!
* One of them takes the lead and does what a man would
do. The other submits like a woman and permits
penetration!
Is this what they call "same sex" union? If this is
truly "homo" (same) gender affair, why don't the two men
just behave like men at the same time?
Women who claim to be "homosexual" are not any different
either. Between a lesbian couple, one acts like a man
and the other submits like a woman. They go for dildos
and strapon "toys" to fill in the lack of a male organ!
Is this truly "homo"-sexuality? Why don't both these
women behave like women at the same time?
This simulation of male-female sexual union by people of
the same gender, in so-called "homosexual" acts, betrays
the hollow claims of gays that theirs is a truly
different kind of "sexual orientation." Homosexual
couples simply adopt heterosexual behaviour in their
closets.
5. Are people born “homo-sexuals"?
No one is born with "homosexual" orientation. The claim
of the American Psychological Association that a
"homosexual" orientation is "not changeable" is simply
not true. There are several people who have left this
life of perversion and have chosen a "straight" path.
(And obviously, the opposite of "straight" is "crooked",
not "homosexual"). Agencies such as the Exodus
International bear witness to this fact.
The testimonies of these "ex-gays" are a strong evidence
to show that such pervert tendencies can be overcome and
corrected. These people also admit that they picked up
gay lifestyle as a matter of choice. Several factors
must have influenced them; but they made a resolute
first step towards this crooked lifestyle.
The Holy Bible clearly states that homosexual tendencies
are a result of uncontrolled passion--a passion that has
hurtled away from all sensible restraints. When people
fail to acknowledge their Creator and to give Him glory,
when they make the gross error of worshipping the
created order instead of worshipping their Creator, God
lets them pursue their base passions.
Twenty centuries ago, when homosexuality was popular
even among the cultured, St. Paul wrote:
"Instead of believing what they knew was the truth about
God, they deliberately chose to believe lies. So they
worshiped the things God made but not the Creator
himself, who is to be praised forever. ... That is why
God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the
women turned against the natural way to have sex and
instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men,
instead of having normal sexual relationships with
women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful
things with other men and, as a result, suffered within
themselves the penalty they so richly deserved.
When they refused to acknowledge God, he abandoned them
to their evil minds and let them do things that should
never be done." Romans 1: 25-28
6. Are we the ultimate lawmakers?
Even if Article 377 is scrapped, we should not think
that God will also amend his law against homosexuality.
God's laws stand even when article 377 is struck down.
Societies and governments legalize homosexual marriages
or homosexual acts must understand that God hates
homosexual behaviour.
Human beings do not have authority to define what is
right and what is wrong for them. True law that
determines normative behaviour has to originate from a
higher authority. All fundamental laws regarding human
behaviour and morality originated from the Mosaic Law
and the Ten Commandments that God gave to His people.
Our morality should be dependent on God's standards and
not on our country's laws.
God's Law (in ancient Israel) decreed death to anyone
who engages in homosexual acts or in bestiality
(Leviticus 20:13) This might sound strange in today's
world where governments are not in favour of capital
punishment for any heinous crime. However, God's law
stands. (Remember, God's law does not condemn anyone who
thinks he/she has homosexual orientation).
However, everyone needs to acknowledge that
"homosexuals" are people who long for love and
acceptance like any other. They are not to be hated. We
are not issuing any fatwa against gays. If you are a
person who struggles with gay tendencies, you may seek
help and expect a change in your lifestyle. The God who
created you has not shortchanged you. He loves you and
cares for you even as He hates your sin.
