CHURCH ATTACKS: BAJRANG DAL BLAMED
MANGALORE: Victims of church attacks have urged the state government to provide security from the violent mobs and compensation for the loss incurred. Appearing before the Justice B K Somshekhara Commission which is conducting a probe on attacks on Christian prayer halls across the state at the Circuit house on Monday, 13 victims who submitted their affidavits urged for immediate action. In the absence of Justice Somshekhara, Commission's legal advisor Hemalatha Mahishi conducted the hearing. READ MORE


REPRESENTATION OF MINORITIES WOMEN'S RESERVATION
Christians also need to get OBC reservations, especially in states, where they are deprived, as per the Mandal Commission Report. The Women Reservation Bill scheduled to be passed within 100 days of the new government has raised a number of issues. ORISSA VICTIMS OUTSIDE KANDHAMAL DISTRICT STRUGGLE FOR JUSTICE
HYDERABAD – June 19, 2009: The All India Christian Council (AICC) signed an agreement with the Human Rights Law Network (HRLN) to provide free legal intervention for victims of anti-Christian violence and to usher long-term solutions for inter-faith harmony in Gajapati District in India’s eastern state of Orissa. Kandhamal District was the epicenter for riots from August to October 2008. But Gajapati District had the second largest number of crimes. At least 337 families lost homes or businesses. We have presented our case effectively, but not forcefully on the Dalit Christian issue. Now, it would seem the UPA Government has no reason, not to grant reservations to SC/ST Christians & hence, the Church needs to act fast. The Church means - the Clergy & Laity. Who will bell the cat? New York: At her death in 2003, Joan B. Kroc, the widow of the founder of the McDonald's Corporation, left a grand idea and $1.8 billion to make it happen. She wanted the Salvation Army to build some 30 lavish community centres around the nation, like the $87 million complex she paid for in San Diego, with three swimming pools, an indoor ice skating arena and a 600-seat theatre. CHRISTIAN WOMAN FACING BLASPHEMY CHARGES IN PAKISTAN
Islamabad: Thirty seven year old Asia Bibi was recently arrested by police on allegations of blasphemy in the village of Ittanwali, Punjab province. On June 19, 2009, some of the Muslim women who work with Bibi on a farm owned by a local Muslim engaged in a heated discussion with Bibi about Islam. Bibi told them that Christ died on the cross for their sins and asked them what Mohammed had done for them. "Our Christ is the true prophet of God and yours is not true," Bibi said.

A young man approached them, introducing himself as Gabriel Antonio Madrigal. Giving away Bibles on the campus of Bucknell University is at your own peril, since the school requires a permit for such an activity, according to a new dispute that arose involving the school's Conservatives Club. The organization has attempted to make several political statements on campus, and has been shut down by officials with the university repeatedly, said a complaint letter assembled by the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education. Orphaned by a devastating cyclone in 2008, thousands of children in Myanmar (Burma) are engaged in a deadly game of hide and seek with Burmese soldiers.
