PASTOR BRUTALLY ATTACKED IN NALGONDA DISTRICT, ANDHRA
PRADESH
Nalgonda District, 21, December 2009 : A pastor
was brutally injured on his head at Devarakonda village,
Nalgonda district, Andhra Pradesh on 20th December 2009.
On Sunday evening around 7.30 pm Pastor R Timothy and
his wife Nirmala along with their youngest child were on
their way to Kottaguda village on his bicycle. Three RSS/BJP
radicals followed the pastor on two motorcycles and
stopped him on the way. They beat the pastor with an
iron rod on his head and also beat up his wife Nirmala
on her left leg.

MASS CONVERSION TO HINDUISM IN SURAT CENSURED
CT December 23, 2009 - Jagadguru Narendracharya
Maharaj is in soup for conducting mass conversion of
thousands in Surat on Monday. The Hindu seer who
spearheads a religious campaign against Christians was
censured for holding a function in which 1,747 people
were reconverted to Hinduism without the permission of
the district magistrate.

Bhopal: 13/12/2009: An ecumenical meeting
held in Bhopal called Christians to respect each
denomination and beliefs of other religions. Commission
for Ecumenism and Dialogue organized a prayer meeting
and an open discussion on various problems faced within
Christian community in Bhopal. The meeting was chaired
by Archbishop Dr. Leo Cornelio.

KERALA CATHOLIC CHURCH CAUTIONS AGAINST HASTY
MARRIAGES
December 16, 2009 CT: In an attempt to
scale down the increasing number of divorce cases in
Kerala, the Catholic Church has cautioned its faithful
against marrying in haste. The Kerala Catholic Bishops
Council (KCBC) urged its members to enter into marriage
only after proper investigations by both the parties.
This should be a prerequisite if the bride and groom are
residing abroad.

MINORITY RIGHTS DAY CELEBRATED
JAMMU. DEC 18: To mark the United Nations
Minority Rights Day and to seek justice for the various
religious minorities in the State of Jammu and Kashmir,
a seminar on the political, legal and social status of
the minorities in Jammu and Kashmir was organized by the
newly constituted Minority Rights Forum here. The
seminar was presided over by Bishop Dr. Peter Celestine
of Jammu-Srinagar. Tundup Rinpochee, President of the

IMMEDIATE IMPLEMENTATION

groups across the country have welcomed the Government
tabling the report of the Justice Rangnath Misra
Commission, and have urged the government to immediately
implement its important recommendation that Christians
and Muslims of Dalit origin be given the same benefits
now given to Scheduled Castes professing Hinduism,
Buddhism or Sikhism as their religion.

EXHIBITION OF CHRISTIANS ATTACKED IN GWALIOR
Gwalior (MP), Dec 20 (PTI):A group of
people stormed into an exhibition here put up by local
Christians and allegedly tore off photographs, damaged
an idol and tried to set aflame religious text, police
said. Police have booked four persons in connection with
the incident, one of whom -- Santosh Godyale -- is a
local office bearer of BJP''s Scheduled Caste Cell, the
police said.
