Bangalore, 19 December 2009: Believers of Christ fellowship church, Shanthaveri, Chickmangalore had a rude shock, when they saw police inspector Shivakumar along with other police personnel from Lingadahalli police station at their church premises.

The congregation was celebrating Christmas and was conducting a special prayer on 19th Dec 2000. About 80 families were present at the function. The church was established about 20 years back by Pastor S David.

At 5.30 in the evening, a police inspector and his team arrived at the church premises and started abusing and using foul language against the believers. They started asking the believers about the amount they received to become Christians. He beat up a couple of believers and chased them away. The police then turned to Pastor S David and started accusing him of forceful conversion.

The police office stated that the DYSP of police has received a complaint from Sriram Sena and Bajarang Dal about forceful conversion taking place in his Church.

The police demanded that the pastor should immediately reach the police station for further enquiry.
