(Pakistan): Finally some relief for the
oppressed Christians here. Five Pakistani Christians who
were falsely accused of blasphemy in April 2007 and had
been detained in prison, were recently acquitted of the
charges, according to reports.

CHRISTIAN GIRLS RESCUED FROM SEX SLAVERY
Karachi (Pakistan): Two Christian girls in
Pakistan have been rescued after more than a month of
captivity as sex slaves to Muslim lawyers in Karachi.
According to International Christian Concern, a human
rights organization focused on Christians who are
persecuted for their faith, Parvisha Alam, 18, and her
14-year-old sister Sanam of Gujranwala, Pakistan, were
abducted Nov. 12 by a neighbor, Muhammad Irfan, who
offered them training in cosmetology and jobs in his
beauty salon.

CHRISTIAN BLOGGER ARRESTED
Riyadh (Saudi Arabia): On January 13, 2009
Saudi police arrested Hamoud Bin Saleh (28) and blocked
access to his online blog, according to reports from The
Arabic Network for Human Rights Information. Saleh had
used his blog to express his opinion on religious issues
and discuss his conversion from Islam to Christianity.
