New Delhi: This issue of “PRAISE THE ALMIGHTY”
marks the successful completion of this newspaper’s ten
years in circulation.
PRAISE
THE ALMIGHTY was born in 1999 in the heart of Pastor M K
Babu, who was then a businessman in south Delhi. Under
his able leadership, a small team of committed
Christians battled all odds to give shape to the initial
issues. Over the past 10 years, God has been extremely
faithful to this ministry. Because of God’s mercy, not
a single issue has been missed since its inception. We
thank God for enabling us to expose the sufferings of
Christians around the world and to keep you informed of
the news and events.
There
is no dearth of Christian newsletters, newspapers and
magazines. While many a newspaper dies a natural death,
it is the consistent interest that you, as a reader, has
shown us that has kept us going ahead. We thank you for
your patronage, prayers and cooperation that has been
key to the success of this publication. The editorial
team is grateful to all who served this cause as
honorary editors, managers, DTP and graphic designers,
contributors, advertisers, well-wishers and subscribers.
We are also grateful to critics and all those who sent
in their feedback. We appreciate your continued
encouragement.
Praise
the Almighty thrives on the firm belief that Christians
are united in the gospel and has consistently provided a
medium for mutual understanding, respect and unity.
Although we identify ourselves as belonging to different
denominations and groups due to various historical
reasons, we are united in the Lord. Our unity and
awareness in the wake of increased opposition to the
gospel and an intolerance towards religious diversity
will strengthen us all the more.
To mark
the beginning of the 10th anniversary celebrations, a
meeting was held on February the sixth, 2009 at the
Delhi Diocesan Community Hall, 1 Ashoka Place, New Delhi
- 110001. Many honourable dignitaries and distinguished
Christian leaders graced this occasion. We have
published a Souvenir-cum-Directory to commemorate this
occasion. Further, we intend to honour a select number
of senior Christian leaders who have been used mightily
by God in and around Delhi by the end of this year.
God has
given us a vision to expand this ministry, and so from
this issue onwards you will see a notable expansion of
the newspaper including a switch from a 12 page to 24
page edition. Furthermore, the frequency of the
publication will be increased from monthly to
fortnightly. Steps will also be taken in due course to
circulate the newspaper widely by hand in the churches
in New Delhi. Complimentary copies will be sent
regularly to the Cabinet Ministers, Members of
Parliament, political and key party leaders and all
Christian organisations and church leaders.
