2010 PTANews: In another incident of alleged
assault on Christians happened in village Tidi Fala
Maidi, a village about 60 kms away from here, under the
Govardhan Vilas police station on Sunday, January 17.
Pastor Surjeet Massey and 20 believers of his church
were in prayer in the evening at Dhanna Bhai's house in
Tidi village. A group of about 15 people with iron rods,
axes, stones and sticks entered in the group and
assaulted the people in prayer. Pastor Surjeet Massey
and the church belongs to Faith Calvary Ministry.
Eleven of the believers were injured by axes and sticks
and were taken to the government hospital. After first
aid the government hospital staff sent them back to
their homes even the ones wounded by axes and fractured
by hits. They approached the police station to register
the case but the FIR was falsely written alleging that
the prayer group was cooking non-vegetarian food, said
Dr. T.M. Onkar, the President of Human Right Council,
Gujarat to PTA NEWS.
The victims were further taken to the government
hospital next after the arrival of a delegation 20
people headed by Dr. T.M. Onkar from Gujarat and Rev.
John Tito Rathnam, President, Human Rights Council,
Jaipur. Though there was a lot pressure from the
delegation on the government hospital authorities they
were reluctant to admit them. On humanitarian basis the
delegation admitted them in the nearby private hospitals
for proper treatment.
Further, the delegation met the District Collector
seeking his prompt action to uphold justice. This
resulted in the arrest of six assailants.
