New Delhi: After a gap of 40 years, Dr. George Verwer, the founder of Operation Mobilisation, will visit Delhi to speak in the "Mission in Global Challenges" conference.

Half a day conference on Mission in Global Challenges is organised for the pastors, church leaders, and mission leaders from in and surrounding of Delhi and NCR. This will be followed by a meeting for Former OMers. We are delighted to invite you, your leaders, and church elders to this important and enriching conference. Dr. George Verwer will address the cutting edge of Global Mission Challenges to the Pastors, Christian leaders, and Mission Leaders of Delhi and NCR.

The conference will be held at Centenary Methodist Church, Lodhi Road, New Delhi, on 20 February 2010. The meeting for Christian leaders will be held from 10 am to 1 pm. The afternoon is reserved for a meeting with former members of OM.

Dr. George Verwer and his wife Drena have devoted their lives to the ministry. He has lived with global passion that has inspired and multiplied tens and thousands of young people - students, pastors, national leaders, missionaries and churches to discover. With his passion to reach the World with the gospel, Verwer has enthused, challenged, motivated, trained and mentored a host of young men and women around the globe.

From his early days as student at Moody Bible Institute and latter the founder of Operation Mobilization, George has challenged, preached, taught, pleaded, prayed, agitated, consoled and mobilised church for action. He is visionary pioneer of short-term mission movement and has sent millions of ordinary Christians worldwide in short and longer term mission service. Under George's revolutionary leadership, Operation Mobilisation has proclaimed Christ by words and deeds in over 110 countries. Since its founding in 1957, tens and thousands of short and longer term workers have served with OM. With current International code of 5400 workers, it is one of the largest mission agencies in the world.

Through George's leadership, OM advanced a revolution of love, fostering innovated ministries through carrier and medicine, literature, media, arts, relief and development, business, leadership development, church planting, the use of ocean going ships and practical demonstration of love around the world.

George is a man committed to the power of the word of God and of the written word. As founder of "Send the Light Publication" and "OM literature," George is responsible for massive worldwide literature ministry that has provided free and inexpensive gospel literature to hundreds and thousands of people and inspired the Christians to love the Lord with their minds and hearts. Over his many years of mission work, writing, travelling and speaking to the crowd throughout the globe, George has never lost his love for individual in the midst of crowd. He has been the true friend. Thousands of people have received letters, emails, phone calls, and personal encouragement from George.

George has modelled missional spirituality, a life lived for others and spirituality of the road. Enduring the walk and path of transparency, weakness, boldness and humility, George has given hope to broken generation that even the hurting people can be redeemed and be fruitful in ministry. In doing so he has allowed the treasure of Christ to shine forth in earthen vessel. Wherever he goes and he goes to many places, he has nations in his heart and his prayers. Wearing his trade marked map of world jacket and huge inflatable globe, Verwer has lifted the churches' eyes to see the world what God sees it and involve and plead the Lord of the harvest to trash out the labourers into His harvest field. What kind of labourers? Not the perfect ones! But the willing ones! Consecrated lives, willing to go anywhere, do anything and pay any price for the glory of God.

Dr. George Verwer stands a model for this generation, man who has mobilised the generation and served God in his generation, humble servant, whose passion for Christ and for global cause, have impacted world for our Lord Jesus Christ.
