2010: Six more people have died of influenza A
(H1N1) in India, taking the death toll in due to the
swine flu pandemic in the country so far to 1302, an
official statement said here today.
Five of the deaths were reported during the day from
Gujarat and one from Maharashtra, the statement said.
Of the total swine flu deaths in the country so far,
Maharashtra now accounts for 340, while 268 lives have
been lost in Gujarat, 186 in Rajasthan, 141 in
Karnataka, 95 in Delhi, 52 in Andhra Pradesh, 39 in
Punjab, 37 each in Kerala and Haryana, 24 in Madhya
Pradesh, 18 in Uttar Pradesh, 13 in Uttarakhand, 8 each
in Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh, 7 each in Tamil Nadu
and Chhattisgarh, 6 in Puducherry, 5 in Goa, 4 in Jammu
& Kashmir, 3 in Orissa, 2 in Assam and 1 each in Mizoram
and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
The statement said 35 new cases of swine flu were
reported from different parts of India today, including
22 in Maharashtra, 6 in Gujarat, 5 in Delhi and 2 in
Kerala.
With these, the total number of laboratory-confirmed
cases of the virus reported in the country so far has
gone up to 29,303, the statement added.
