DENGUE CASES CROSS 1000-MARK IN DELHI

New Delhi, Nov 23 (PTI): Dengue cases crossed the 1000-mark in the national capital with ten fresh cases of the vector-borne disease being reported today even as authorities said they expect a downward trend over the next few days.

"The total number of dengue cases has reached 1,009 with ten more patients testing positive in the last 24 hours," Municipal Health Officer (MCD) N K Yadav told PTI.

There are 13 cases in which the infection has been contracted from outside Delhi.

The city has reported nearly 380 cases of dengue in the past 12 days but health officials hope that as the mercury was dipping, the spread of the disease could be contained over the next few days.
