Amritsar : The 21-day Fasting Prayer and revival meetings organised by Bible Church of God (BCG), Amritsar, concluded on December 6. The morning and evening prayer meetings held from November 16 to December 6 at the church premises were well attended by the local people and members of the church. Such annual 21-day fasting prayer meetings are held since 2000.

Pastor P.S. Philip, Asstt. Superindentant, SIAG, Pastor M.K. Babu, Senior Pastor, Sacred Assemblies Fellowship, Delhi and Pastor M.M. John ministered in these meetings. Pastor P.K. Varghese (Baby Varghese), the founder pastor of Bible Church of God also ministered in these meetings. Fasting prayer meetings were held simultaneously in the branch churches of BCG during this time. "This is a time for sinners to repent and our believers to get revived. We found these meetings helpful to many to meet their Saviour and draw themselves near to their Lord," Pastor Baby Varghese said.

Bethel Bible Church is a fasting growing and powerful congregation in Amritsar catering to the spiritual and physical needs of the people. This congregation gather in an open plot allotted by the Amritsar Improvement Trust. High-handedness of officials and changing committees have prevented the construction of a church building. The authorities have decided a rate for the land but they are not accepting the money. Instead, they put hurdles on the way by citing one or other reason. Therefore, every Sunday morning they erect a tent and dismantle it after the service. This is going on since 1994, from the day they were allotted the land.
