YAOUNDÃ, Cameroon: MARCH 18, 2009. Pope Benedict XVI is encouraging bishops to work together to proclaim the Gospel to everyone, keeping a paternal closeness with their priests, mentoring the laity and caring for the poor. The Pope said this in an address to the bishops of Cameroon at Christ the King Church in Yaounda. He urged his listeners to evangelize in their diocesan communities, "for there are countless people still waiting to hear the message of hope and love that will enable them to obtain the glorious liberty of the children of God. "Along with the Lord's Prayer at practice, we have a silent prayer before each game where I tell them to pray for themselves and their teammates.'' But a case making its way to the U.S. Supreme Court could prevent Thompson and other coaches of public schools from praying with their teams, even if the players initiate the prayer on their own. A CHILD MINISTERS DURING SUNDAY SERVICE
Miami: The first time Terry Durham preached, he was not in front of a group of people or even inside a church. He was in the bathroom of his grand-mother's home in Fort Lauderdale, delivering his first sermon surrounded by tooth brushes, soap and towels. He was 6 years old. Five years later, Terry is an ordained minister who preaches almost every Sunday at True Gospel Deliverance Ministry, a 20-seat nondenominational storefront church that his grandmother founded in 2000.
