 INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATED BY THE FULL
 GOSPEL TRUST OF INDIA
 
Delhi: The Full Gospel Trust of India (TFGTI), a 14-year-old charitable trust operating all over India from Delhi celebrated the International Women’s day on March 6.

TFGTI has many programs to uplift the underprivileged in India, mainly focusing on the development of women and children regardless of their sex, religion, caste and creed. One area of their focus is empowerment of women and the girl child.

Self Help Groups(SHGs) linked to insurance, making women literate, care for pregnant ladies, health care and hygiene of women, creation of awareness of various social and relevant issues involving their lives and drop-out prevention program for school girls.

On the eve of the International Women’s Day, in order to encourage and empower the women, a celebration was conducted Suraj Park, Sector 18, Rohini on March 6. More than 300 women gathered from Suraj Park, Jahangirpuri, Valsva, Nangli Deri and Begumpur to take part in the meeting.

Councilor of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) P. P. Pandey was the chief guest for the program. Dr. Savita from Shalom Hospital spoke on AIDS awareness and prevention. Adv. Anjana Masih of National Christian Council of India (NCCI) enlightened the participants about legal awareness and women rights. She educated the women how to approach the women’s cell in the event of domestic and other atrocities on them.

Mr. Madan Mohan from Delhi TB Association said that one of the vital reasons of early death of women in India is due to Tuberculosis. He advised the patients to adopt the DOTS program of the government because TB is curable. Mr. Tomi from Indian Bank explained to the audience about the availability of loans with Indian Bank for the weaker section of the community.

Rev. Dr. Abraham Sahu presided over the meeting. The participants left the place enlightened and encouraged.
