MANIPUR BEGINS
PRAYER CAMPAIGN |

Baptist Convention, Manipur (MBCM) is organizing a
Prayer Campaign for Peace in Manipur from March 23. The
pastors and church leaders of the member churches of
MBCM will gather at Imphal Youth hostel from 23-27 March
and to participate in the campaign.
The Prayer Campaign will be held in two phases. First
Phase will be a chain prayer from 5 PM of March 23 till
5 PM of 30. The member churches and individual members
will join for one hour prayer. Second phase will start
from 1 – 30 April 2009, the member churches will
assemble in their churches and home for one hour each
day for the whole month of April. The main prayer item
of the campaign is to see Manipur without bloodshed and
return the normal life as it used to be before.

Chandra said, “Wherever the Church of Jesus exists,
there brings the transformation. He believes in the
power of church to bring transformation even in the
situation like Manipur.”
He further said, “There is a panic in the heart about
what will things look like in Manipur in next ten years.
Due to the ongoing crisis of the state, which has
affected the lives, economy and education of Manipur,
there is very high possibility of Manipur becoming least
educated, least employed and poorest state among the
whole of the country.”
The members of MBCM will turn to God in prayer to touch
and heal Manipur with His grace to prevent for worsening
the situation of the state and bring back to normal life
without any longer bloodshed and public turmoil.
MBCM appeals all sections of society in Manipur,
particularly the Christian communities to uphold the
state by claiming a week, a month and a year without
bloodshed in Manipur.
Meitei Baptist Convention, Manipur is the body of Meitei
Baptist Churches in Manipur and surrounding states
involves in transforming lives and communities.
