Trivandrum (Hallelujah): A "pentecostal" Malayalam movie called "Upadeshiyude Makan" (Preacher's Kid) is set to hit movie theatres in Kerala!

The story was written by Mr. George Mathew, son of Pastor Kallada Mathai. Mr Mathew is settled in the US and is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr Mathew scored the music for the movie. The screenplay was written by Jose Thomas. Joshi Mathew directed the film.

Prominent Malayalam actor and former minister in the state government, Mr. Ganesh Kumar, has given life to the main character in the movie. Divya Unni stars with him in this unique Malayalam movie which has entered unchartered waters.

The film is expected to hit theatres by May. The preview was held on April 10 in the Kalabhavan theatre in Trivandrum.

The film is largely autobiographical - about one Mathai and his experiences as a pastor's son. The latter half of the story is set in the USA.

It has to be seen whether Pentecostals and other evangelicals of Kerala will march to the theatres to watch this "holy" film.
