Dear
child, you are growing up. This year you are in a new
class. God wants us to grow up big and strong. But He
wants us to be disciplined and obedient children. In
nature every living being grows and matures. But as
God's children we have to grow up in a way pleasing to
Him.

Vipin was very fond of fish. He wanted to grow some fish
in his room. He was so fascinated and bought some gold
fish and arranged a beautiful aquarium in his study
room. The shopkeeper gave some food to be given to the
fish. He also instructed the boy how to feed the fish. Vipin agreed and started his job with enthusiasm.
Every morning Vipin would get up and go to the aquarium
to see the fish. He was eager to see his fish growing
up. Slowly the fish started to adapt to the environment
and began to grow big. They would flap their wings, and
would swim up and down the aquarium. They would also
show their antics. The fish were very playful. They were
growing up day by day. Vipin was very happy.
There is a verse in the Bible “Jesus grew up in body,
attained wisdom and grew in favour with God and men.” We
are God's gift to your parents. When we were born our
parents were so eager to feed us and to see us growing
day by day, month by month and year by year. When an
infant is brought to the hospital for vaccination or for
check up, the nurse would measure its weight to find out
how much it has grown. Most parents measure the heights
of their children regularly as they grow up.
The Bible says that Jesus grew up in body. We also are
eager to see that our body is growing up properly. Your
body is to be strong, but not fat. We have to eat
healthy food and do exercise to keep our body fit. We
have to maintain a strong and confident body. We have to
keep some time for rest and relaxing. Watch TV and play
computer games only for a limited time; otherwise our
eyes may get affected.
Our body and our pasture should reflect the strong
personality in us. When we have to go through hard and
difficult situations, we have to develop a challenging
spirit, and an ability to overcome the problems. When
you get a difficult maths problem, sit quietly and solve
it patiently. If you are not able to do it ask your
teacher and learn. Be persistent until you learn how to
solve difficult problems. You have to be patient,
persistent and positive to reach your goal.
Jesus wants us to grow up in body. Keep your body clean,
fresh and hygienic. We also read about Jesus that when
he was a boy he sat down with the elders to talk about
the Scriptures. We also have to talk with the elders or
pastors about our doubts. We can learn from them many
things in the Bible. So, your mind will become
interactive.
Open your mount wide and speak about God. Don't spoil
your body and mind by any bad things. Don't copy bad
gestures of others. Don't talk bad words and don't talk
bad things about others. Train your eyes to look
straight. Don't teach your lovely bands to do bad
practices like picking up other's things without their
knowledge.
Also, you have to eat good food, and avoid junk food.
Learn to speak politely to others. Then you can maintain
a good friendship with them. Don't get aggressive about
anything. When you meet an elder, show respect to him or
her by greeting them. Be obedient to elders. Don't speak
back at your parents. You should respect them always.
Give respect and get respect.
Train up your body with all good qualities. Then you
will not be a failure. You will be blessed by the Lord
always. Let us pray: “Dear Jesus, help me to grow up in
my body in a way pleasing to You. Help me to have all
the good qualities so that you would bless me. Amen.”
May the Lord bless you!
