Dear little friends, you all have heard about Good
Friday and Easter Sunday. Every year people all over the
world celebrate Easter Sunday to remember the
resurrection of Jesus. Do you know how it was like on
the day Jesus rose from the dead? Imagine a journey in
time to the first Easter morning.

On the first Easter morning some women came to the
garden where Jesus' body had been buried. They were
going to put some perfume on Jesus' body because they
loved Him.
When they came to the grave, it was open. And when they
came up to it they saw a young man sitting in the tomb,
dressed in white. He was a bright, shiny angel.
The angel said: “Don't be afraid. I know you are looking
for Jesus. He is not here. He is risen. Go tell His
friends that He is alive again.”
So the women hurried home to tell the disciple what they
had heard. On the way, who do you think met them? Yes,
Jesus! As He came up to them, He said, “Hallo!” And when
the women say it was really Jesus, they knelt down and
touched His feet to show their love.
Then Jesus asked them to tell His friends to meet Him in
the place where He used to live. So they hurried on
their way and told their friends the wonderful news. How
excited they all were!
That evening the friends of Jesus had a meeting in one
of their homes. They were happy because Mary also had
seen Jesus and had told them about it. But they were
still afraid the enemies of Jesus would try to hurt
them. So they locked all the doors in the house.
All at once Jesus was with them in the room. At first
His friends were afraid when they saw Him. They thought
they were seeing a ghost. But Jesus said: “Peace be with
you.” These words took away their fears.
Then Jesus showed them the marks from the nails that had
been put through His hands. He also showed them the mark
in His side where a soldier had stabbed Him. He even
asked them to touch His hands and His feet. He wanted
them to be sure He was really alive.
Now the friends of Jesus were sure that He was alive
again, and they were very glad. Then Jesus said to them:
“As My Father sent Me, even so send I you.” He meant
that they should be His helpers and should do His work
from now on.
The disciples were thrilled. They were happy that Jesus
is alive again to help them in their lives. Dear
children, when Easter Sunday is celebrated, we are also
happy. We are happy that Jesus is alive again to help us
in our lives. Jesus is with you always to help you. Let
us thank Jesus. May God bless you!
